Trauma-informed Mediation

SMART Trauma-informed Mediation applies the newest interpersonal neurobiology research into relational conflicts. Our approach encourages the client to heal our traumatic reactions during the mediation process in order to restore past difficult experiences. Our Trauma-informed mediators help to unfold necessary processes and care for those traumatic experiences. SMART Trauma-informed Mediation is not clinical practice. We encourage clients to have their own individual therapist prior to the mediation processes when we see the symptoms.

Mediation is a structured, interactive process where an impartial third party assists disputing parties in resolving conflict through the use of specialized communication and negotiation techniques. All participants in mediation are encouraged to actively participate in the process.

What is so special about our mediation process?

As Mental Health Professionals, we offer Mindfulness-based Mediation paying special attention to Trauma triggers, collective processes, and Emotional regulation using the Body-Mind approach. This is not therapy, rather we help to regulate conflict or difficult processes using a Mindfulness-based whole-brain approach for your mediation process. We believe the best-negotiated agreement comes from embodied consensus, as well as a regulated mindset and behaviors.
